T. Lowler certificate and receipt, 1865.

This collection consists of a certificate issued to T. Lowler of Savannah by the Office of the Acting Assistant Quartermaster in Savannah, Georgia, 1865. The certificate states that Lowler purchased a black horse from the U.S. government at a public sale, branded with the letter "S." The certificate is signed by John S. Bergen, Lieutenant, and R.Q.M., 17ed N.Y. Vols. and A.A.Q.M. The receipt for the purchase is on the same page. An "R" has been written over the first "L" in Lowler.
